Evo IV – IX Brake Upgrades

The Evo IV – IX standard brakes are extremely good. Equipped with Brembo callipers and decent size rotors they offer good stopping force. However, they are not so good at repeated stops or race track work because of the extreme heat.

Evo IV – IX brakes can be improved upon remarkably by simply changing the friction material, fluid and fluid lines. This is especially important if you’ve got more power or you’re planning to visit the racetrack.

Tokyo Motorsports has refined a selection of brake packages that are perfect for Evo IV – IX. We have tried and tested these many times over and installed numerous sets of each.

Minimal dust, minimal squeal, maximum stopping power!!

Brake pack 1

This package is great for the street or for sprint type motorsports or motorkhanas.

The kit consists of the following:

  • DBA4000 slotted and heat treated front rotors  (two piece APP front rotors are also available).
  • Project Mu NS front pads.
  • Project Mu G-four racing brake fluid.

The DBA rotors give excellent stopping force with the wiper slots cleaning the face of the brake pads each and every rotation.
The NS pads work from stone cold. Add this to a brake fluid change, with Project Mu G-four 335 brake fluid, and you end up with seriously good stopping power.

Brake pack 2

This package is great for fast street or for faster sprint type motorsports or motorkhanas.

This kit consists of the following:

  • DBA4000 slotted and heat treated front rotors (two piece APP front rotors are also available).
  • Project Mu HC800 front pads.
  • Project Mu G-four racing brake fluid.
  • Goodridge ADR approved braided brake lines.

The DBA rotors give excellent stopping force with the wiper slots cleaning the face of the brake pads each and every rotation.
The HC800 pads work well from cold with minimal noise and dust.
With braided lines and Project Mu G-four 335 brake fluid the brake pedal feel is significantly improved over stock.

Overall this is an excellent upgrade giving significantly improved stopping power.

Brake pack 3

This package is great for serious sprint type motorsports or motorkhanas. Also for those who want a complete, all-round brake upgrade.

This kit consists of the following:

  • DBA4000 slotted and heat treated front rotors (two piece APP front rotors are also available).
  • DBA4000 slotted and heat treated rear rotors.
  • Project Mu HC800 front pads.
  • Project Mu NS rear pads.
  • Project Mu G-four racing brake fluid.
  • Goodridge ADR approved braided brake lines.

The DBA rotors give excellent stopping force with the wiper slots cleaning the face of the brake pads each and every rotation.
The HC800 pads work well from cold with minimal noise and dust.
The NS series pads on the rear are well suited to balance with the HC800 pads on the front.
With braided lines and Project Mu G-four 335 brake fluid the brake pedal feel is significantly improved over stock.

Overall this is an excellent all-round upgrade giving massively improved stopping power.
