Servicing

Whether it’s scheduled servicing or an interim oil change we can cover it. We have a tried and tested range of synthetic fluids and well developed service procedures designed to keep your Evo running at its best.

The recommended service interval for an Evo (road car) is every 5000kms.

If you are aware of the service history of your Evo then the next service is easy. If however you have just bought your Evo, and don’t know anything about its history, we can easily get the servicing up-to-date for you.

We use the highest quality Motul fully synthetic lubricants in the engine and Castrol fully synthetic gear oils in the transmissions. Brake fluids are Motul or PBR and coolant is genuine Mitsubishi premixed.

Routine servicing
Each of our services begins with a road test, our comprehensive 124 point mechanical check and a complete vehicle inspection. Once we have inspected the vehicle we will make any recommendations we feel necessary, quote on any additional work, and then call you to authorise any extra items before we start work.

Servicing from $199 (including 124 point inspection fully synthetic oil and OEM filter)

Gear oil package

Incorrect or old gear oils will result in poor shifting (especially when cold) and premature transmission failure (particularly transfer cases).

We have come up with a gear oil solution based on feedback from our customers and testing on our own Evo 7. Fully synthetic Castrol products are used throughout with the exception of the AYC fluid which is the Dia-Queen OEM product.

Gear oils should be changed every 40,000kms and AYC fluid every 20,000kms.

Gear oil package: $277 fully installed.

Spark plugs

NGK Iridium spark plugs, slightly cooler than the factory plugs for additional engine protection. Ideal for engines running higher than stock boost (over 1.3bar). A great supporting modification.

NGK BPR8EIX plugs from: $99 (set of 4) + install.

Timing Belts

Due at 100,000kms, or five years, the timing belt (or cam belt) is probably the most important service item, because if it breaks it will cost you an engine..!

The 4G63 has two timing belts that need changing. One cam drive belt and one balance shaft belt.

We recommend that the hydraulic tensioner assembly is also changed when the timing belts are changed. It is optional, and we have never had one fail, but it is well worth doing for peace of mind.
