Our Dynapack Dyno

Our Dyno is a four wheel drive Dynapack (hub type) dyno. We chose this dyno for one very simple reason; accuracy. The hub dyno completely eliminates the roller/tyre interface which is the cause of a roller dyno's inherent inaccuracy. Dynapack chassis dynamometers are such a radical departure from the stereotypical roller dyno that it really is in a class of its own. The Dynapack direct couples to the wheel hubs and applies a precisely controlled hydraulic load. This method of direct coupling plus its built-in strength means the Dynapack™ is always in control of the vehicle.

Controlling a powerful car on a roller dyno can sometimes be a daunting task. With Dynapack™ you have TOTAL CONTROL of the vehicle, with no wheel slip due to its direct coupled design. With that there is no inertia to mask the results, giving you greatly improved sensitivity, repeatability and significantly reduced time spent tuning and mapping!

Our state of the art dyno cell is one of the best in Perth. It's fully enclosed with exhaust extraction, big HD dyno monitor and overhead control cooling/control lines. Our Dyno cell is the only one of it's type in the world.

Hourly: $110/hr inc. GST.

Daily: $770 inc. GST. (Dyno needs to be booked for an entire day in advance. 8am until 5pm).

Tokyo Motorsports can remap your Evo’s factory ECU.

Nowadays there is almost no need to buy expensive aftermarket ECUs, and then have them tuned, unless you need functions such as Nitrous control, sophisticated launch control or some other specific motorsport feature. The stock Evo ECU is an incredibly powerful piece of hardware which is capable of being fully remapped allowing you to optimise the potential power gains of your cars’ modifications.

Mitsubishi spent millions of dollars researching and developing the stock ECU. They also spent thousands of hours perfecting the program that gives the Evo all of its excellent driveability and reliability characteristics.When you remove the stock ECU you remove all of this R&D and some extremely well refined functions such as closed loop lambda control (which gives you great fuel economy) and a knock control system which is unparalleled in accuracy (which can literally save your engine from sudden death due to a bad batch of fuel).

Our advice is: ‘Retain the stock ECU and get it Tokyo Tuned’

The stock ‘tune’ in your ECU is very conservative and allows for some good gains in power with a simple remap. Once your modification list goes beyond a catback and air intake you should be considering a remap. Each remap is written specifically for your car and during the process we typically adjust the High and Low Octane fuel maps, High and Low Octane ignition maps, speed cut, boost cut and MIVEC. The Evo 10 is a more complex process as they include boost pressure maps, torque limiters and dual MIVEC.

There are a number of different systems that can be used to remap the stock ECU. Some well know names are; ECUTEK, VERSO and OPENECU. While different in functionality they are all built on similar technology and the end result is more-or-less the same; the program in your stock ECU will be changed to give your car more power.
The software we use to remap your stock ECU is OPENECU, the Dyno we use to remap your stock ECU is our four wheel drive Dynapack Dyno.

Motorcycle ECU Tuning
We can fully retune a selection of motorcycle ECUs. These include factory ECU's: Triumph, Aprillia, Suzuki, KTM, Buell and Benelli.
Power commander tuning is also available for Power Comander v3 and v5.
For more serious applications, and forced induction bikes, we offer custom tuning of other types of ECU and can supply and fit full engine management systems.
