EXEDY racing flywheels are made from solid one-piece forged chrome moly steel. They are specifically designed to reduce weight and inertia for improved engine response.
The ring gear teeth are milled into the flywheel, unlike some aluminium flywheels where the ring gear is pressed, increasing the possibility of separation from the flywheel.
EXEDY forged chrome moly steel flywheels are guaranteed burst-proof to 16,000rpm.
The stock Evo 7-9 flywheel weighs 6.4kgs. The Exedy lightened flywheel weighs 4.8kgs (25% lighter than stock).
This flywheel is required when installing an Exedy Sports Tuff clutch to an Evo IV, V or VI.
(The stock flywheel is smaller in these models and needs to be upgraded to take the larger Evo IX type Sports Tuff clutch).
Exedy Lightened Flywheel: $495
Available for Evo 4-9.
